The ProSI 149 is made of linear, medium-density polyethylene, which may be the most indestructible and economical material to use in the construction of a kayak. This material allows for the kayak to have the proper amount of stiffness, but maintains enough flexibility so that slight amounts of bending such as caused by car topping the kayak are not an issue.
